Beijing time June 27th, 2013 Wimbledon Championships entered its fourth match day. The sixth-seeded Li Na encountered with Simona Halep who has won 11 successive matches before. This time, Li Na recovered from a slump to beat Simona Halep 6-2, 1-6, 6-0 in a roller coaster Wimbledon second round match, and reached the third round at Wimbledon. After three years, Li Na is back to the top 32 of Wimbledon Championships again.
Simona Halep is a world top-100 tennis player playing on the ITF Women's Circuit and the WTA Tour, and is currently the No.2 ranked women's tennis player from Romania. Halep went into the match on the back of an 11-match unbeaten streak. She was the toughest possible second round opponent for a seed, with her high ranking and impressive winning run. And Halep had already beaten Li in the US Open first round in straight sets in 2011. Therefore, the match was a great challenge for Li Na.
At the first set, Li Na beat Simona Halep at 6-2, gained the first advantage in the match. Then, Halep suffered from back problems and needed medical treatment after the first set, but still managed to hit back in the second before Li held her to just 14 points in the final set. After treatment, Halep showed more powerful explosive arm strength and made a 3-0 lead. Since Li Na was not ready for Halep's sudden change, Li Na lost the control of the game tempo. Halep didn't hesitate to win the second set with a 6-1. Li Na rallied her forces at the third set; she seized the opportunities to take a 3-0 lead at first. Later Li reached her match point, and finally won the third set at 6-0.
