What To Expect in this Year’s Comic-Con

Comic-Con, the multi-genre, multi-platform entertainment and comic convention held in San Diego every year, will be kicking off in less than 24 hours.

Commonly known as Comic-Con or the San Diego Comic-Con, "Comic-Con International: San Diego" is a four-day event held every summer.

For this year's event, comic enthusiasts have these events to look forward to:

Wednesday (July 23)

Pick up your official Comic-Con badge and get ready for Preview Night.

Preview Night gives attendees a chance to have a run-through of the show floor and, to pick up comic books and merchandise before the convention starts.

A sneak preview screening of the pilot episodes of "The Flash", "Constantine", "iZombie" and "Teen Titans Go!" will be shown in Ballroom 20 will be shown.

Thursday (July 24)

While previews continue to be shown, Thursday is the day when panels begin. d

The main cast of shows such as "24", "The Legacy and Return of Battlestar Galactica", "Under the Dome", "Legends", "Reign", "Penny Dreadful" and "Hannibal" will be making live appearances and answering questions in panel interviews.

"Batman" writers, such as Neal Adams and Frank Miller, will also be discussing their work and more specifically, the dark hero.

Creator Robert Kirkman of "The Walking Dead" comic books, will be discussing the series with artist Charlie Adlard.

George R.R. Martin, creator of the much-loved "Game of Thrones" will be at the Indigo Ballroom at the Hilton Bayfront to discuss his upcoming novels, "A Song of Ice and Fire" and, new comic book series "In the House of Worm".

In commemoration of the 45th anniversary of the moon landing, NASA experts will also be having a panel discussion regarding their plans for the future. Panelists include Buzz Aldrin of Apollo 11, one of the first men to walk on the moon.

Linkin Park will be holding a mini-concert outside the convention center.

Friday (July 25)

Live interviews for Friday include panel discussions with the "Big Bang Theory" writers,  and the main cast of TV shows such as "iZombie", "The Walking Dead", "Game of Thrones", "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D", "Bates Motel", "Outlander", "Arrow", "Sleepy Hollow" and "Orphan Black".

Just like every year, a highlight of the Comic-Con is a panel with writer-director-actor, Kevin Smith. He is set to debut the trailer for his new film, "Tusk".

Saturday (July 25)

A two-hour panel will be focusing on three particular Warner Bros. movies, namely "Jupiter Ascending", "Mad Max: Fury Road" and "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies".

The cast and crew of shows such as "Defiance", "Constantine", "True Blood" and "American Horror Story: Coven" will be in the convention for live panel interviews.

While this the first time "American Horror Story" is joining the convention, this will be the last time the "True Blood" will be participating as it is in its last season.

The Marvel Studios panel, the most anticipated event in Comic-Con, will also be held on Friday. The panel will feature the cast of "The Avengers 2: Age of Ultron". Special announcements are also expected to be made.
