Guy Martin, according to a Sun report, boasted his speed-driving, saying he'd been doing four times the speed limit on a 40-mph road. The 33-year-old television star has been, as a result, investigated for speeding at 180 mph with his Aston Martin. The offense happened on the Isle of Man, while reviewing the car.

The British motorcycle racer did not deny the allegations, admitting to going over the speed limit in a small village in the Isle of Man. His speed-driving caught the police's attention not on the actual time it happened, but after the release of the review.

According to his review, Martin said that he was doing 180mph down Sulby Straight, and his car wasn't even at top shape at that time.

He said he drown the new Aston Martin Vanquish Carbon on a Sunday morning, revealing that he got around with the accelerator flat to the floor. He also mentioned that after the corner, there was a jump and the car practically flew with all the lights flashing on the dashboard.  He said, then the car fishtailed as it landed.

According to Isle of Man Inspector Derek Flint, they are currently making inquiries.

Martin, who hosts his own television program called "Speed with Guy Martin," is now popularly considered to replace Jeremy Clarkson on the BBC program "Top Gear," a half-hour motoring show that premiered in 1977 on the BBC in the United Kingdom.

BBC suspended Clarkson in March 2015 after a "fracas," or a riotous brawl-punching one of Top Gear's producers, Oisin Tymon. The dispute, according to reports, happened while filming in Hawes, North Yorkshire, over catering.

In light of Clarkson's contract with the BBC expiring at the end of March, with no renewal, Martin was initially rumored to replace him-- very much hotly tipped for the show.
