In response to the bashing, the producer of the show issued a statement, admitting that they meant to mute 'XIA' in Kim's stage name. The producer said, "We thought the name 'XIA' would hurt fans, so we censored it, but instead, we caused a misunderstanding."

In addition, they stated, "During the editing process, we thought that nowadays, Junsu is known as 'XIA', not Junsu or 'XIA Junsu'... Only 'XIA' was muted." The producer also explained that it was not their intention to create a misunderstanding with the fans.

Despite their response, fans continued to criticize the show, saying that producers should have just decided to call Kim 'Junsu' from the beginning.
