NBC Cancelled 'Constantine': Warner Bros Stays Positive About The Show, Could FOX Be The Series' New Home?

NBC has now cancelled "Constantine." It was more than a few months ago when the network denied getting more episodes of the show, after its first 13 episodes. Warner Bros. said that the fate of "Constantine" was still up in the air and it could possibly make a come back for a second season. The past several weeks though, producers talked with NBC for Season 2, and unfortunately, NBC decided to move on from John Constantine and his Hellblazers. Could "Constantine" still have a future elsewhere? Daniel Cerone, Constantine's executive producer said via Twitter that they are trying their best to find a new home for the show.

Ign reported that NBC was speaking to Warner Bros. about picking up the series, but it seems there was no truth to that. According to NBC, for most cable channels, the budget for producing "Constantine" is an obstacle. Although, Nellie's Andreeva of Deadline is giving some hope, wherein she said,  "I hear there could be a future for the show, even a potential broadcast play - what do you think of this monster mash: Lucifer, Frankenstein and Constantine under one roof?!"

"Constantine," aired a single 13-episode during season 1, starring "Criminal Minds" actor, Ryan, as the chain-smoking supernatural investigator, first launched by Alan Moore in "Saga of the Swamp Thing and a spin-off into his own show, "Hellblazer."

The first season also stars Angélica Celaya ("Dallas"), Harold Perrineau ("Lost") and Charles Halford. The series is produced by Bonanza Productions with Warner Bros. Television. The series is written by executive producers Mark Verheiden, Daniel Cerone and David S. Goyer. Since, FOX gave a go signal to the new series "The Frankenstein Code," and have the premiere for "Lucifer."

Could "Constantine" also dive into FOX? What do you think about this news? Let us know by leaving your comments below.
