China’s Shanshan Feng Dominates Ladies European Tour In Shanghai

China's hometown hero Shanshan Feng took the top spot in the Ladies European Tour (LET) Buick Championship held on Sunday, May 10, in the Shanghai Qizhong Garden Golf Club.

Closing with a two-under-70 win even in breezy conditions, Feng completed the play at 17 under, earning her first title of this year's golf season. In second place is South Korea's Hyeon So Kan, after returning a final round of 69.

Denmark's Nicole Broch Larsen finished third, just three points behind Kang. Stacey Keating, who led at the first round with a course record of 63, tied with Amy Boulden from Wales, Thailand's Wichanee Meechai, Norway's Marianne Skarpnord, and Italy's Margherita Rigon at fourth place.

After a shaky start in the beginning of the game, the 25-year-old pro golfer from Guangzhou blazed an awesome trail all the way to the 18th hole. Initially, she lost the lead after Kang's definitive birdie on the first and second holes. Nevertheless, Feng raced back to the top by hitting birdies on the third and fourth. A bogey shot on the sixth did not deter her either, as she immediately made up for it with another birdie on the seventh. She sealed her victory with four more birdies on the 10th, 15th, 17th, and 18th holes.

"This is not my first time winning in China," Shanshan Feng said about her latest success. "I'm really honoured to win my sponsor's tournament." Indeed, Feng's victory last Sunday is only the latest of the four individual titles she has won on the Ladies European Tour and her 13th overall. She is also the first golfer from Mainland China to become a member of the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour in 2008 and also the first from the country to win it in 2012.
