According to officials, 22 concertgoers had been rushed to the hospital whereas 46 individuals received immediate treatment at the venue. 50 other people were also taken intro protective custody.

According to the joint statement released by Mansfield Police Chief Ron Sellon and Fire Chief Neil Boldrighini, they were not expecting that Saturday night's concert-related issues.

Nonetheless, they claimed that "measures were in place to provide appropriate and adequate care and protection to all patrons. As a result, although there was a higher than expected volume, appropriate care was available through the expandable model."

Furthermore, according to the statement: "The large number of medicals in a shortened time of approximately three hours caused the activation of a phase one EMS plan utilizing ambulances from five mutual aid communities. Police dealt with a steady stream of intoxicated persons as well, resulting in over 50 people being taken into protective custody and a number of others arrested for alcohol-related issues."

Meanwhile, the country music singer was unaware of the medical problems. In a clip that was uploaded when the show ended, Urban said, "What a great night tonight. It was killer. Gosh, up on the lawn tonight, that was nutso. It was so cool."

He also added, "Anyway, if you came tonight, thank you very much for giving us all the love and energy. Boston Strong, I love you. Night-night."

Reportedly, there had been a total of 18,000 concertgoers at the Mansfield's Xfinity Center arena.

The incident occurred a month after dozens of fans attending Avicii's concert at Boston's TD Garden were hospitalized after an alleged drug-related issue.
