After approximately seven months of dating, George Clooney finally found the woman to propose to. Unlike other women Clooney had dated who would have immediately said yes to a proposal, Amal Alamuddin took exactly 28 minutes before answering. Of course, everyone would know that Amal had said yes given the couple is now happily married.

How did George propose in the first place? In an exclusive report by CBS This Morning, the Oscar Award winning actor claimed he simply dropped the question on Amal. It surprisingly involved a bit of humor.

"It was completely unexpected, so finally I just said 'Listen, I'm 52 [at the time] and I've been on my knee now for about 28 minutes, so I gotta get an answer out of this or I'm gonna throw a hip out!" shared Clooney.

After an excruciating 28 minutes, Amal had said yes to the marriage proposal. The intimate proposal reportedly involved a number of songs from George's aunt, Aunt Rosemary. Based on Clooney's heartfelt statements, the actor fell head over heels for Amal.

"I knew fairly quickly that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with Amal," stated Clooney, adding, "When I asked her we had never talked about it. There wasn't like 'Maybe we should get married.' I dropped it on her!"

Clooney and Alamuddin tied the knot in Venice back in Sept. 26, 2014. A number of A-list celebrities were in attendance of which included Anna Wintour, Matt Damon, Ellen Barkin, Emily Blunt, and John Krasinski.

Since their marriage, Clooney and Alamuddin have been inseparable. The pair has gone on to attend red carpet events together. Both have also shown their flair for fashion. While Amal was recently spotted on a coffee run in London last week, George has been handling promotions for his latest film, "Tomorrowland."
