NBA Trade Rumors: Latest on Chicago Bulls and Draft Lottery

This summer promises to be an extremely fascinating period for many NBA teams, players and their fans in terms of roster changes and improvements. However, it looks especially interesting for the Chicago Bulls with their impending divorce with fiery head coach Tom Thibodeau.

The Bulls are reportedly crafting a succession plan to seamlessly change their coaching staff next season, as they are first looking for a suitable replacement before they will actually let go of the highly sought-after coach, according to Bleacher Report's Adam Wells.

CBS Sports' Ken Berger reported that the possible successor is current Iowa State University head coach and former Minnesota Timberwolves shooting guard and Vice President of Basketball Operations Fred Hoiberg. His exhilarating, up-tempo style of coaching is called "Hoiball" by basketball enthusiasts.

The article also disclosed that Chicago may take advantage of other NBA teams' need for a marquee head coach (such as Denver, New Orleans, and Orlando) to explore the possibility of swapping Thibodeau for draft picks or other compensations.

Meanwhile, trade rumors regarding Joakim Noah is still afloat. As the offseason draws near, trade talks involving last year's Defensive Player of the Year and two-time All-Star center are becoming louder and louder.

Reports say that the Bulls want to deal him because of his maturing age and declining health. Grantland's Zach Lowe mentioned in his article that apart from Noah, Taj Gibson is a more likely trading candidate as well.

Finally, with regards to this year's lottery teams, ESPN's Chad Ford tweeted that at least four teams are willing to trade their lottery picks to accelerate their rebuilding process.

The teams mentioned were the Orlando Magic, Sacramento Kings, Detroit Pistons, and Charlotte Hornets, who are holding first round picks numbers five, six, eight, and nine, respectively.
