Despite constant transfer rumors surrounding him, Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has pledged his allegiance to the team. He is committed to see out his contract until 2018 even after the appointment of new manager Rafa Benitez

Following what mainstream media view as an abysmal season for Real Madrid, former manager Carlo Ancelotti was relieved of his duties in favor of Rafa Benitez. The announcement was made about two weeks ago and several of the club's key players immediately became the topic of transfer speculations.

Ronaldo has been linked to French giants Paris Saint-Germain where he could potentially see himself playing side-by-side with another global hot shot, Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Ever since he left Manchester United, speculations about his possible return have also been constantly in the news. However, the Daily Mail reports that Ronaldo intends to honor his current contract with Real Madrid which lasts until 2018. He had previously declared that he would want nothing more than to end his career at the prestigious club.

Before the 2015/16 season officially begins, Benitez has reportedly been making the rounds and speaking to his new club's key players. Benitez was spotted having a chat with Gareth Bale in Wales on Friday before the Welsh team's win against Belgium. Bale came to the club with much fanfare in 2013 but has proven to be inconsistent despite several brilliant performances. Benitez reportedly assured him of his position in the club and has encouraged him to learn Spanish.

The Real Madrid fan base and management team has notoriously had very high standards. Bale's inconsistent performance has put him in the center of transfer speculations. Former manager Carlo Ancelotti himself, was sacked last month after what is deemed to be a lackluster performance last season.

The team won the FIFA Club World Cup in December but only reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League, an event which they won in 2014. They lost the 2014/15 Spanish La Liga title to bitter rivals Barcelona by only 2 points. With a team as successful as Real Madrid, a second or third place finish is only seen plainly as a loss.

Now that Benitez is at the helm, he appears to have his front line triumvirate intact. Karim Benzema, who completes the arrowhead with Ronaldo and Bale, renewed his contract only last summer. He is also unlikely to depart but it remains to be seen if Benitez can bring home some hardware next season and manage to keep his job.
