Dong Nguyen, creator and developer of "Flappy Bird," released a sequel of the game Aug. 1 that's only available Amazon's Android Appstore.

"Flabby Bird," the game where users have to direct a bird flying between green pipes, was removed from Apple's Appstore and Google Play on Feb. 9.

Some speculated the move was due to a lawsuit filed by Nintendo, a leading Japanese electronics and video game maker, accusing Nguyen of stealing graphic designs from the company's earlier games, according to The Inquisitr.

Nguyen, however, revealed the true reason why he took down the game.

"'Flappy Bird' was designed to play in a few minutes when you are relaxed," said Dong in his first  exclusive interview since he pulled the plug on the app.

"But it happened to become an addictive product. I think it has become a problem. To solve that problem, it's best to take down 'Flappy Bird.' It's gone forever."

But it seems the creator has disowned his statement about the fate of the game by releasing an exclusive sequel, called "Flappy Birds Family," in Amazon's Appstore, according to The Verge.

The new game can only be played on Amazon's Fire TV and not on other devices like Amazon Fire Phone and Kindle Fire.

The new game has new features such as a versus mode and more obstacles

It retains its difficult, yet fun, gameplay, according to its product description on Amazon. There's also emphasis on "not breaking your TV" while playing the game with family and friends.

The release of the game only on Amazon's Android Appstore is confusing, according to the Android Headlines.

The game could be used to promote the company's Fire Phone by being the only device to have the program.

During the peak of its popularity, "Flappy Bird"  received 50 million downloads and earned Nguyen US$50,000 per day through ads in the game.
