Chinese Military Uses Effective Lure to Get More Recruits

In a bid to lure more recruits this year, China's People's Liberation Army (PLA) is using a popular song to entice newbies.

The Defense Ministry picked popular and modern songs to attract young people to military service.

It incorporated the songs into its website showing fighter jets maneuvered by skilled pilots, tanks rolling, new recruits walking in camp, and aircraft sailing the ocean.

The song used by the PLA is entitled Little Apple. It was produced by the Chinese pop duo Chopsticks Brothers and has been topping music charts.

The Little Apple song has been in vogue with young people and is used as a dancing music by dancers in public squares.

The song has long been used as an offensive charm and was made in Xi'an by the Conscription Office.

The music is accompanied by romantic lyrics, which would always remind listeners and video viewers that every person has a dream that brightens up with glory even in times of struggle.

The song also includes a reminder of a pledge made in childhood to safeguard and secure the motherland.

According to Wang, who works at the Xi'an Conscription office, the PLA is hoping that the video will show the young men of the country that a military career is not dull and torturous as they might have been imaging.

It also encourages young people to get enlisted with the PLA so they feel the warmth and greatness in bringing peace to their country.

One of the Chopsticks Brothers, Wang Taili, said, "Comrades, follow me. Let's answer the call and serve our country."

The video received positive responses from the public. ShanghaidaV, a microblogger said, "The video makes my roommates and I want to join the PLA because the life of those in the video seems to be very cool."
