According to Kevin Smith the reason that he and Ben Affleck are not in good terms right now is  Jennifer Garner, Affleck's wife.

Smith and Affleck have worked with each other for five films and were known to be close.

But the friendship that these two had is now cold which have been noticed when Smith was interviewed.

Yahoo Movies asked Smith about a potential Batman vs Superman:Dawn of Justice for 2014's Comic-con. He was also asked if Ben is in town.

Smith's answer surprised everyone. He said, "I don't know, because we're not f*cking tight. I have not been [close with him] in decades. That's old Ben," he said. "He's got a wife that don't care for me at all. And plus, honestly, he probably don't care for me at all anymore. He's a triple-A-list movie star and s**t like that. If he's Jimmy Carter, I'm Billy Carter, to put it in '70s terms. And I'm not even related and s**t."

After the interview Smith's representative told E!News that those comments were all a joke but citing this, it was not the first time Smith had explicitly said his comments about Garner.

The first time that Smith was in a some kind of "what's-with-you-Garner" stuff was when he was picking on Affleck and making fun of him after not having seen each other for quite some time. He found Jennifer saying that if he keeps on doing that, she's gonna kick his ass.

Smith accepts that it is already given that Garner does not find him amusing as a friend or even as a person.

For Smith, Garner cannot ride on his jokes.
