Remakes are a dime a dozen, but for some remakes, it just is not the same without the original cast. Luckily for the upcoming "Evil Dead" TV series, Bruce Campbell is ready to come back as Ash Williams.

Titled "Ash vs. Evil Dead," the Starz TV series is much-awaited follow up to "The Evil Dead" film franchise. IGN reported that the series will continue the story of Ash Williams who, despite spending the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, is forced to face his demons.

The first image released is a throwback to the film franchise, with Den of Geek showing the photo of Bruce Campbell's Ash Williams covered in blood and with his chainsaw arm attachment still operational than ever.

Sam Raimi will be producing the 10-episode TV series, alongside Ivan Raimi, Rob Tapert, Showrunner Craig DiGregorio and Bruce Campbell himself. Tech Guru Daily reported that Lucy Lawless, wife of Rob Tapert and "Xena Warrior Princess" herself, will also be appearing in the series. The show is out filming in New Zealand, and when this hits the small screen, fans will definitely be screaming for more.

The horror genre has not been the same since its boom during the 80s. It has gone on a continuous downward spiral, sometimes going up, but always headed down. For TV, however, it is an entirely different scenario, with "The Walking Dead" showing that the genre has potential on the small screen. Given that those involved in the original film franchise are also the ones backing this TV series, the quality can be expected to be just as great. "Ash vs. Evil Dead" already won from its nostalgic demographic alone, and horror fans are definitely ready to gobble it up whole when Ash starts hacking those demons with his chainsaw.
