Katy Perry has recently been involved in a dispute between the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Los Angeles Archdiocese, both claiming ownership of a hilltop convent Perry has been eyeing for years.

The dispute is reportedly due to the Los Feliz villa in a neighborhood overlooking Hollywood.

According to the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, the building is theirs and that they have already sold Los Feliz villa to a restaurateur named Dana Hollister, who reportedly wants to turn it into a restaurant and bar.

However, the Los Angeles Archdiocese, led by Archbishop Jose Gomez, claimed they have rights to selling the villa. He also claimed that he already has a $14.5 million deal, all cash, with another buyer who happens to be Katy Perry, according to Sky News.

The deal that the nuns struck with Hollister is roughly $15.5 million, and that was two weeks ago.

The Katy Perry, nuns dispute began after the archdiocese said in a released statement that the sale the nuns made with Hollister was unauthorized. The archdiocese added that it has already begun legal action so that Hollister would not be able to take hold of the property.

In correspondence with the LA Times, Sister Rita Callanan reportedly told the publication that she has no intention of selling the convent to Perry due to her suggestive songs and attire.

"Well, I found Katy Perry and I found her videos . . . if it's all right to say, I wasn't happy with any of it," Callanan said.

In a recent meeting with the nuns, Perry apparently tried to get the favor of the sisters by allegedly singing "Oh Happy Day" for them while also showing her "Jesus" tattoo to them, according to CNN.

The five members of the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary remain since they complied with the dictates of the archdiocese. The majority of the sisters decided to leave the convent than submit half-century ago, reported The Daily Beast.

The outcome of the Katy Perry, nuns dispute may yet prove to be in favor of the 30-year-old "Dark Horse" singer.

According to Gomez and the archdiocese's attorney, three of the five sisters have already signed over their rights to sell, while the two others insist that their sisters were just coerced into signing such agreements.

While Hollister has moved in, local residents are rumored to be opposed to her plans of turning the convent into a boutique hotel. Hollister has been sued by the diocese. They are now hoping for her purchase to be voided. Last week, Perry was allowed to visit the property with her architect via a court order.
