After all the dramas happened at Assen last weekend, Pramac Racing rider Danilo Petrucci concluded that weekend was his best up to date where he finished the race a creditable eleventh ahead of the Factory work team Ducati Corse Andrea Dovizioso who started to slow down in the middle of the race because of a broken component on his seat unit.

Throughout the weekend at The Cathedral, Petrucci controlled the Gp14.1 through the demanding fast changes of direction to finish the race 29.038 seconds behind the race winner Telefonica Movistar Yamaha Racing Valentino Rossi, which was the closest this year in dry conditions.

During the race, the 24 year-old Pramac Racing rider from Terni was stuck fighting at the back of a frantic eight-rider race for 5th place who was headed by Monster Tech 3 Pol Espargaro. After the race, Petrucci admitted that he was delighted with the result at Assen.

"[It was] Maybe the best race so far this year," Petrucci told Crash.net. "Fifteen seconds to the podium is a great result and five seconds to fifth place. I'm very happy. I push really hard all the race. The bike went so good from Thursday morning and all the weekend we were fast and always in the top ten.

Although finishing 11th place wasn't pretty satisfying by any standard but he was happy to stay behind with the second group throughout the race, including the likes of the Team Suzuki Ecstar rider Aleix Espargaro, 2 Yamaha Monster Tech 3 riders Pol Espargaro and Bradley Smith and CWM LCR Honda rider Cal Crutchlow.

He was fighting for the 10th place but eventually was caught by Maverick Vinales, who relegated him to 11th. Now, with these fair results, Petrucci is hoping it was good for the evolution of the Desmoscdeci. Coming to Sachsenring next weekend he is expecting for another good race, especially with the cold temperature which would not result to a big drop with the rear tyre.
