Microsoft has reportedly shifted the Surface Pro 4 release date to 2016. The company was forced to do so in the light of the numerous job cuts, which they enforced to make up for the financial issues that they suffered while paying for Nokia.

Apart from this reason, there is a rumor that Microsoft recently ordered a very large amount of 256 GB Solid State Drive's which are built on Samsung's NVME technology. Microsoft wants to use these SSD's in the Surface Pro 4 in order to impart its good functionality. These SSDs are capable of transferring data at 2 GB/s, which would make Surface Pro 4 one of the fastest devices of this era.

Microsoft is in the process of procuring around 20 million SSDs that are scheduled to be shipped in the second half of next year, which is making it pretty obvious that the Surface Pro device will be released by 2016. Rumors also suggest that this device will be equipped with Windows 10, Win Beta reported.

Since Windows 10 is in its Beta testing phase currently, it makes it all the more clear that the next flagship device from Microsoft will not be released before next year.

In the previous releases of Surface Pro devices, it was seen that Microsoft Surface Pro 3 was drastically different from Surface Pro 2. It sported a much larger screen and a much thinner body, along with better performance and a new stylus, as per The Hot Fix.

This made this device hugely popular and successful in the market and it is still going strong. Hence, it is rumored that a great deal is expected from Surface Pro 4 as well. So, Microsoft is sparing no expense in enhancing the hardware and features of the upcoming Surface Pro 4.

The device is expected to be available in 12-inch and 14-inch variants, with the same screen resolution of 2K. The smaller variant will be equipped with a fan less Intel chipset and the bigger variant will be powered with i7 chipset and Broadwell technology. The device might have a debut price of $2000.
