A happy and excited remark turned awfully wrong for Queen of C-Pop Jolin Tsai. With the intention to convey her eagerness to stage the Beijing leg of her Play World Tour, her online message only stirred fight among netizens.

Announcing her arrival in Beijing, the singer posted "I Pei! Beijing!" on her Weibo page. Little did she know that her simple introduction to the Chinese audience would cause a heated argument between her fans and social media users who have no idea about her album.

"Pei" is the Mandarin name of her album "Play." A homophone, "pei" is also a Mandarin word for spitting at something with contempt. Tsai's wordplay got lost in translation and incited angry remarks from netizens. People who misunderstood the message called Tsai disrespectful and told her to "get out of Beijing!" Her fans immediately responded in her defense and explained the meaning of Tsai's words.

The online uproar over her message prompted Tsai to take down her post. Her manager Tom Wang consequently issued a statement explaining the singer's greeting. He clarified that Tsai intended to say that her Play concert has arrived in Beijing and that she is coming for her fans.

"After seeing that her fans have quarreled, she decided to remove her post. She hopes to see her fans coming to her concert happily," Wang said.

Just halfway through the year, her album play has already won several awards, including Best Female Artist and Best Album from the 2015 Hito Music Awards and the 2015 Golden Melody Awards.

Tsai started her mainland China concerts on July 4 in the province of Guangdong. Beijing was her second stop and Shanghai will be the last on July 18. She is set to return to the mainland for two more concert dates in November.

Namie Amuro, Queen of J-Pop and Tsai's friend, is reportedly the special guest in the two additional shows as the final act. An equally talented singer and dancer, Amuro has collaborated with Tsai in "I'm Not Yours" and shared her stage during an earlier performance in Taiwan.
