It won't be long now before Frank Underwood returns to the small screen.

Reports are making rounds on the Internet recently that "House of Cards" Season 3 will be released in February 2015. In fact, sources said the hit original series will have every episode available on Netflix starting on the premiere date so fans will be up to date on what Underwood has in store at the White House.

Actor Kevin Spacey, who plays the role of Underwood, took to social media to confirm that production is already up and running for the show's third season.

"Thanks to all who came out for Clarence Darrow @oldvictheatre! What a blast it was to do. Now back to Washington for... well, you know," Spacey posted on his Twitter account in June.

The first two seasons of "House of Cards" showed the audience how Underwood ruthlessly navigated his way to become the most powerful man in the world. Throughout the show's first and second seasons, fans saw how Underwood fulfilled his dream of becoming the president of the United States, even if there wasn't even a single vote that was cast in his name.

But now that he's already inside the Oval Office, many fans are wondering what is next for the conniving politician.

"House of Cards" creator Beau Willimon said in an interview that Underwood will be faced with the dilemma of what to do now that he's on top of the world, so to speak.

"Who are you? You can no longer say, 'I'm the guy trying to reach the summit.' Now, it has to have meaning. It used to be that the meaning was getting there," Willimon said.

The "House of Cards" is Netflix's first foray into producing original series. The hit political drama was met with rave reviews and was soon followed by other Netflix original shows in the likes of "Hemlock Grove," "Orange is the New Black," and the reboot of "Arrested Development."

"House of Cards" was originally packaged as a two-season series, but Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos wanted more from the show.

"I think if you look at the original 'House of Cards,' there was a natural third season, and we could go well beyond that," Sarandos said, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
