Top model Cara Delevingne opened up about her relationship with girlfriend and insisted that her bisexuality is not a "phase."

Cara Delevingne clearly stated that her "bisexuality" is not just a phase. In a report by People magazine, the 22-year-old supermodel claimed that she is bisexual after the controversy that sparked after her Vogue interview. The writer of the magazine implied that Cara's bisexuality was a phase, which led to around 12,500 people signing up for a petition with a demand for Vogue to issue an apology to the "Paper Towns" actress.

"I am who I am. It took me a long time to accept the idea, until I first fell in love with a girl at 20 and recognized that I had to accept it," she said in an interview she did with New York Times.

Not only did the model discuss her bisexuality but also admitted that she is indeed in love with girlfriend St. Vincent.

"I think that being in love with my girlfriend is a big part of why I'm feeling so happy with who I am these days," she said. "Being in love helps, you know? If you're in love with someone, you can be with them like no one else is in the room. Acting is like that. It's like taking that feeling and turning it on so nothing else matters when you're looking in another actor's face."

Delevingne rose to fame when she made her modeling debut in Vogue Italia back in 2003. She then signed under Storm Model Management in 2009 and bagged the Model of the Year at the British Fashion Awards in 2012 and 2014. She did explain that modeling was not a dream of hers. Acting and music were more like the paths that she wanted to pursue.

"Modeling was never a dream of mine. But when I start something, I want to prove people wrong. I thought: I'm going to smash this as hard as I can," Cara said.

In an article by Refinery29, they insisted that the common misconception about bisexuality is to say that it is just a phase. They also stated that Cara's preference should be respected.

Cara's name is just starting to rise into another level. To add to her already-successful modeling career, she is also doing movies like "Suicide Squad" and a potential high-profile music venture.
