Over the week, rumors surfaced about Korean singer-actor Rain's big comeback this year. Fans of the K-pop veteran quickly caught on and began speculating about the reported grand music comeback.

In a report by Soompi, an insider revealed that Rain and his agency were eyeing and working on a new album for release in October and that the K-pop star's stage comeback time frame is still being finalized.

However, as quick as speculations surfaced, Rain's agency was quick to dispel rumors, telling the entertainment site that the stories are untrue. According to Cube Entertainment, the singer-actor is looking at future projects as an actor and is currently in talks for overseas engagements.

"Although he has been consistently working on songs as a singer, there are no plans for him to make a comeback as a singer in October," a representative from Cube Entertainment clarified.

Rain's last album released in January 2014 entitled "Rain Effect" made waves across the Korean music scene. Before the album's release, Rain was away from the spotlight for four years, but he surprised his fans with his songs "30Sexy" and "La Song."

In a 2014 report by Billboard, the star's album was described as, "Reassuring fans and critics he hasn't missed a beat during his four-year absence from the spotlight."

It further added that "Rain Effect" was a move that "re-solidifies his position in the K-pop firmament." All 10 tracks in the album was co-written and co-composed by Rain.

Aside from his music, Rain also made headlines with reports that he was dating Korean actress Kim Tae-hee. In January 2013, the couple admitted they were seriously dating, Korea Times reported.

Last month, the Korean couple was spotted at a promotional event for "JVJQ," a Chinese cosmetics brand. This is the first time Tae-hee has appeared publicly with her boyfriend Rain.
