Android M, the latest update to the Google's operating system, is rumoured to include a more Native Voicemail feature that is sure to provide an enhanced user experience. Expected to hit markets in fall, the new system will have voicemail support for its dialer.

According to Tech Times, Android's next operating system, tentatively called Android M, is all set to entertain the user with a better experience as the native voicemail support will ensure that users no longer need to rely on individual service providers to develop apps for their dialers.

However, this news can't be counted as a respite until now as the native voicemail feature will need to add support services in order to let this app work. As long as the support is absent, users will not be able to enjoy the features of this app. On its part, Android M has started to work aggressively in order to gather more supporters for this app. Till date, T-Mobile and Orange, a French carrier, are the only people who have agreed to this deed. This clearly means that only a limited number of users will be able to use this feature, at least for now.

Visual voicemail, the new feature being introduced in Android M is a new thing for Android users but this feature has been on iPhones ever since the first model debuted in 2007, The Verge reported. This makes Android's move a delayed yet widely welcomed option.

While Apple users are accustomed to the feature, Android-powered smartphone users had to rely on individual apps of carriers or on services like as Google Voice in order to enable the voicemail feature on their device. When Apple introduced the visual voicemail option, it did so in tandem with AT&T in order to ensure that a maximum number of users had access to it.

In case of Android, the challenge is that a lot of carriers are providing the service at an additional cost and are most likely to not support the idea of getting into Android M as it would close a source of revenue for them as well.
