A little girl suffering from cancer got to "marry" the man of her dreams in what could be almost considered a modern fairytale wedding inside a hospital.

Abby Sayles, who is suffering from Pre-B Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, has been obtaining life-saving treatment at the Melodies Center for Childhood Cancers at Albany Medical Center when she met her knight in shining armor- nurse Matt Hickling, Wbay.com reported.

Hickling is the nurse who has cared for Abby in the past year and it was during those times that a special bond developed between them.

The little girl had been telling her mom all week she wanted to marry Hickling who is her favorite nurse. Apparently, Hickling was more than willing to grant his patient's wish, and so they were able to pull off a "wedding" inside the hospital in less than 24 hours.

Abby's mother Renee Sayles, shared on the "Amazing Abby" Facebook page that she had told Matt of her daughter's wish. Soon enough, the nurse texted her back saying "We're planning a wedding tomo..."

Donning a white dress, a veil and black leggings, the bride carried a bouquet of pink and purple flowers while the groom wore a tuxedo T-shirt with a boutonnière lent by a co-worker.

The hospital staff bought bouquet of flowers and laid rose petals down an aisle, according to ABC News. And since there wasn't any organ music, they got a little resourceful and just hummed "Here Comes the Bride."

When asked how she feels after her "wedding," Abby answered: "Good, It's my first time being married."

Mrs. Sayles also expressed her joy after her daughter's wish was granted.

"It means the world [to me]," Renee said.

Meanwhile, Hickling wrote on his personal Facebook page about his memorable experience marrying his 4-year-old patient.

"Our patient shyly asked me to marry her," Matt wrote, as per CBS News. "I didn't hesitate to say yes, I got a HUGE hug and we sealed the deal with ring pops being placed on our fingers!"

"This day will hopefully be one our patient and her family can always look back on and smile when days are tough!" he also wrote. "I know I will!"
