Bob Arum criticized his cash cow, Filipino icon Manny Pacquiao, calling him "unprofessional" after the latter chose to miss a doctor's appointment in the US to visit a countryman in Indonesia who is currently on death row.

Daily Mail Online reported that Pacquiao, who recently went under the knife to repair a torn right rotator cuff he aggravated during the "Fight of the Century" with Floyd Mayweather Jr., was supposed to come to Los Angeles on July 4 for a checkup and some tests with his doctor Neal ElAttrache at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic regarding the rehab of his injured shoulder.

Pacquiao reportedly canceled his appointment with ElAttrache and instead chose to go to Indonesia to try and help convicted drug smuggler Mary Jane Veloso who is in prison.

Aside from the Wirogunan jail visit in Java, Pac-Man also shot a TV commercial in the country, according to Yahoo Sports.

"Well, Pacquiao was supposed to come in to see the doctor, and for some reason, he decided to cancel it and come later," the Top Rank boss said. "You know, he's not acting very professionally, in my opinion."

The 83-year-old promoter was said to be left frustrated by Pacquiao's priorities and decisions which led to his somewhat appalling comments with regards to his prized fighter.

"When you have an operation like that you've got to get into rehab. You've got to get the doctor to look at it and to guide you as to the kind of rehab that you've got to do," Arum told reporters during a recent junior title fight in Dubai. "He's a grown man and he makes his own decisions but as far as I'm concerned he's not an active fighter."

Boxing News 24's Allan Fox noted that this public reproach from Arum might mean that one of the longest-running promoter-fighter relationships in the history of the sport might already be coming to an end especially after his ward's huge loss to the unbeaten pay-per-view king early in May.

Fox said that Arum would have kept his comments private between him and Pacquiao, he could have just phoned him to clear things up, but choosing to scold the eight-division champion publicly would leave many fans wondering whether their relationship is already strained or is beginning to break down.
