The Flash is speeding his way into his second season, but he already changed his uniform to something much cooler.

Barry Allen, also known as The Flash, just got his new costume released by his network The CW. Science Fiction says it looks a lot like the old costume, but with minute differences that the naked and untrained eye may not automatically notice. The crest has been colored-in with white, with the thunderbolt still remaining intact in the middle. Some yellow piping have been added, which can be a not to the New 52 costume that may be a small detail, but comic book fans will surely appreciate.

However, the light on middle might mean nothing, or it can be one important plot point. USA Today points out that it could be hinting at the eventual direction that season two might traverse in. It is true that the finale hinted at a multiverse storyline, which, if told incompetently, could mean the eventual death of the young series; but it could also bring the series to new frontiers, just as it has done for the first season.

Of course, the change in costume is not done without thought on his supposed partner in the TV world, since E! Online reports that Oliver Queen's Arrow is also getting a wardrobe upgrade, both heading into the direction of how the costumes in the comic books are.

It's a given fact that live action adaptations of superheroes rarely follow the costumes of the original characters. The slow but sure way of putting Barry Allen and Oliver Queen's characters into the right costumes can be intriguing, since just as much as these adaptations tend to delve away from the costume, they tend to delve away from the story as well. Hopefully, these two hopeful TV series will choose the right path and become faithful to their base characters.
