Jenise Paulette Wright, a six-year-old Bremerton, Washington native, has been missing since Sunday morning.

According to the young girl's parents, Jenise frequently wandered around a nearby park by herself. They believe that on the day of her disappearance, the victim had gotten up early to take a stroll in the park when they discovered that she wasn't in her bed.

Phyllis Tindall, a neighbor of the family, shared that she wouldn't allow her own child to be out on her own, but Wright's parents have allowed Jenise to do so since she was three-years-old.

After the young girl didn't return home for 24 hours, the Wrights decided to call the police.

Due to the suspicious circumstances and timeline of her disappearance, the police thoroughly scrutinized the family. They underwent grueling interrogations, lie detector tests, and searches.

The police stated that the couple has been more than cooperative.

However, new information in the investigation revealed that Jenise's father had prior child molestation charges on his record for allegedly molesting two young girls over a decade ago.

Wright's father, James, was charged in 2000 with first-degree child molestation for a sexual encounter with an eight-year-old girl, and third-degree child molestation for fondling the breasts and privates of the girl's 15-year-old babysitter. Both incidents happened on a drunken New Year's Eve.

James Wright pled guilty to misdemeanor assault of the 15-year old. All other felony charges were dropped.

Wright was sentenced to one year in jail, but the judge suspended the sentence provided James follow certain conditions which included paying fees.

Despite James Wright's history, police officials are focusing their attention to someone outside the family.

Although the couple has not appeared in media outlets to ask for help in locating their daughter, police said that Wright's parents only wish for her to return safely home.
