The World Wrestling Entertainment severed its contract with iconic wrestler Hulk Hogan, also known as Terry Bollea, for racist remarks that appeared in a sex video filmed eight years ago, the Daily Beast reported.

The WWE has not announced an official reason for the split but said that  made the move out of its commitment to embrace and celebrate people from all backgrounds, according to a Yahoo Sports report.

The organization also removed everything related to Hogan in its website, and the wrestler's landing page is now unaccessible.

His image in the WWE's "Hall of Fame" has also been deleted and merchandise bearing his name and image have been taken out of the WWEShop.com.

Hogan has been a pro wrestling icon and marquee attractions since the 1980s.

Hogan's statement given to People magazine said that used offensive language in a conversation eight years ago.

He assured that he strongly believes that everyone should not be treated differently based on race, religious beliefs, gender, orientation,  or otherwise.

Hogan is suing Gawker Media, which posted video of a sex tape,  for personal injury and is demanding $100 million.

The video showed Hogan repeatedly using the n-word in a derogatory manner.

The inciting event was apparently a conversation in which Hogan, discussing his daughter, repeatedly used the n-word in a derogatory manner.

The National Enquirer and Radar have reportedly indicated that the audio comes from Hogan's sex tape drama with Gawker Media.

In the audio, Hogan complains about a black billionaire man who wants to fund the music career of his daughter.

It was followed by countless nigger rants, including ahaving her daughter marry an 8-foot-tall nigger basketball player who has a hundred million dollars instead of the said black billionaire.

Hogan's attorney, David Houston, also insisted that Hogan resigned from the WWE, which makes it inconsistent with the announcement that he was terminated.

Houston said that Hogan doesn't want to drag the WWE and his family to the mess, that's why he resigned.
