As "Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" dawns nearer, more and more cast members are being given their respective roles, and Jena Malone just got two.

The "Hunger Games" star was reportedly seen hanging around the set of the upcoming "Batman vs. Superman," and the rumor mill started churning out different ideas as to whom she will play. Latino Review revealed that the actress will play the original Batgirl herself, Barbara Gordon. The news was apparently sourced from the recently held San Diego Comic Con, where different upcoming movies shared details or trailers for their fans.

This report is in direct conflict to original reports, wherein Malone's character was supposedly playing a different character. Cinema Blend reported that she was originally rumored to play Carrie Kelley, the girl Robin in "The Dark Knight Returns" since the Batman costume that was worn by Ben Affleck in the movie very much resembled the design and aesthetic of the Batman costume in the Frank Miller opus. This, however, was quickly disregarded after a shrine to the Boy Wonder was shown in the Comic Con trailer; thus, fans were quick to presume is already dead.

Despite the supposed confirmation of Malone's character in the movie, it is still not sure if she will don the costume on the upcoming movie. IO9 reported that her appearance in the movie can be a way to set up the future Bat-movies or maybe even a movie of her own that could follow the most recent portrayal of the heroine as the hero of her won city.

Overall, Jena Malone is a great choice to include in the DC universe. Though she may be a bit rough around the edges and the blonde hair probably contributes to the feeling of inadequacy for Malone, she has shown that she can do good in her previous movies, and fans of both Malone and "Batman vs. Superman" can definitely expect something new.
