Actress Christina Ricci has given birth to her first baby boy with husband James Heerdegen.

While no baby names or a specific date has been announced, Us Weekly confirmed on August 8 that the couple has welcomed their first child together.

The pair had kept the 34-year-old actress' pregnancy hushed up until last May when Ricci was in her fifth month and was seen with her growing baby bump at the Los Angeles International Airport.

A friend close to the couple told Us Weekly how Ricci and Heerdegen could not contain their excitement in becoming parents, describing them as "thrilled" and more than prepared for a change in everyday routine.

The actress, who was rumored to have dated Adam Goldberg and Chris Evans in the past, met her photographer husband in 2011 whenthe two of them had been working on the set of ABC's Pan Am.

A year later, there had been speculations on the pair's engagement when Ricci was spotted with a sparkly diamond ring on her left hand. A few months later, the "Addams Family" actress gladly confirmed that they were getting married.  

The former child star told People how happy she felt when she gets to say "fiancé" instead of "boyfriend".

"People take you so much more seriously once you start throwing around that word", the actress said.

Last October 26, 2013, Ricci and Heerdegen headed to the altar and tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at New York City's Harold Pratt House and Peterson Hall. The petite bride looked stunning in her distinct Givenchy haute couture gown.

The "Casper" star gushed about her husband becoming her favorite person in the world and that she "absolutely" looked forward to having children with him. "I can't wait to have our own little world replete with small beings!", she told Us Weekly.
