The 34-year-old Richardson has NBA career averages of 17.1 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists.

He played 19 games last season with the Philadelphia 76ers, posting 9.1 points and 3.5 rebounds in a less than 22 minutes per game.

Richardson missed the entire 2013-14 season due to foot and knee injuries.

Drafted fifth overall in  2001 by the Golden States Warriors, he averaged 18.3 points and 5.4 rebounds in six seasons with the Warriors.

He also suited up for the Charlotte Hornets, Phoenix Suns and Orlando Magic in establishing career averages of 17.1 points and 5.0 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Prince will sign a one-year deal for the veteran's minimum with the Timberwolves, whose coach and president Flip Saunders hopes he could help tutor their young players and boost their defense, according to NBC Sports.

He joins  Kevin Garnett  who was brought to work with the team's big young men and Andre Miller who is helping develop their guards.

Saunders' idea was to add veterans to a young roster that includes Andrew Wiggins, Karl-Anthony Towns and Zach LaVine.

In fact, Towns was so inspired by Garnett's presence in the team and is looking forward to get lessons on how to become a champion.

Furthermore, both Prince and Garnett could surely improve the Timberwolves' defense, which was the worst in the NBA last season, allowing 109.6 points per 100 possessions.

The 35-year-old Prince, who is entering his 14th season, averaged 7.5 points in 58 games last season for the Detroit Pistons, Vancouver Grizzlies and Boston Celtics.
