Surging Jo-Wilfried Tsonga chalked up another victory against top-seeded players, defeating seventh-seed Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, 6-4 6-3, to advance in the finals at the Rogers Cup in Toronto on Saturday.

The 29-year-old Tsonga needed only three service break points to win against the Bulgarian one in the first set and two while serving on the second set.

Dimitrov, 23, admitted that he didn't play up to par against Tsonga.

"He came up with goods today when he needed to and basically that was it," Dimitrov said. "And I didn't think I played good tennis."

In the other semifinals match, Roger Federer showed his top form beating Feliciano Lopez in two sets, 6-3, 6-4.

Sunday's finals matchup between Federer and Tsonga will prove to be an exciting one as Tsonga guns for a fourth upset. Federer, on the other hand, is seeking a winning form before entering the U.S. Open in Aug. 25.

Tsonga had played Lopez in five outings and have won all five of those matches and has only won four games in 15 outings against Federer, who just turned 33 Friday.

Tsonga's last encounter with Federer was at the finals of the 2011 BNP Paribas Masters in France.

"When you play against Roger, it's always special," Tsonga said, indicating that the crowd might be cheering for Federer.

"It's quite a good feeling when you win against 10,000 people," Tsonga added with a smirk on his face.
