O'Donnell continued on social media alerting anyone who may have seen Chelsea. The actress gave a description of her daughter in a blog post.

"[She] has a large tattoo on her right side of a dream catcher with the word 'Breathe.' Chelsea stopped taking her medicine and is in need of medical attention," she blogged.

Chelsea is O'Donnell's adopted daughter with ex-wife Kelli Carpenter.

At the height of the search, the actress' rep disclosed information about the 17-year-old's health, "Chelsea, like millions of people, lives with mental illness. It has been a difficult road for Chelsea and her family and they just want her back safe," she said in a statement to the Los Angeles Times.

At 6 p.m. Tuesday the search went to a halt after police alerted the family that they had found Chelsea and her dog and that both are "safe and uninjured," New York Police Officer Neil O'Sullivan told the news site.

"Thank you for all of your love, sharing and help," Carpenter posted on her Facebook.
