Despite the recent Twitter war that happened between Zayn Malik and her BFF Taylor Swift's boyfriend Calvin Harris, Selena had nothing but praises for the former One Direction member.

Selena Gomez and former One Direction member Zayn Malik fueled dating rumors when the "Good For You" singer was interviewed. Daily Mail reported that when asked who she wants to collaborate with, Selena mentioned Zayn.

"I know Zayn, so it's almost like if he would ever want to reach out, he knows that he could," Gomez said. "I think that's so exciting for him to go and figure out what he wants to do [in his solo career], but I don't know what that is. I think it'll be pretty exciting but, yes, I love him, he's awesome."

According to Hollywood Life, Selena's statements came after the drama that just happened between Malik and Taylor Swift's boyfriend Calvin Harris. Zayn posted a poster of Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus being compared with each other on Twitter. This is with regards to the Spotify issue that Taylor got tangled with. Swift pulled out all her songs from Spotify since they were streaming her music for free. Miley's take was different from the "Bad Blood" singer, she said that her songs can be listened to for free since she already has everything she needs.

Celebuzz reported that while Selena Gomez praised Malik, her former boyfriend Justin Bieber posed for a picture with Little Mix girl group which Perrie Edwards - Zayn's girlfriend - is a member of.

The "Monte Carlo" actress is busy for her upcoming second studio album with the title "Revival." Apart from her music, she will also appear in the 9th season of "The Voice." Selena will become mentor for Gwen Stefani's team.

"First off, don't say no to Gwen," she said. "I always feel like when I'm in the presence of someone older than me I have this respect and I love that I can learn. I want to learn from people, I want to be around women who are, you know, nurturing and care and smart and creative."

Meanwhile, the "No Doubt" singer is also excited to be working with Selena who she said gave her a new and fresh perspective about the music industry.
