In four seasons in the NBA, Leonard has won an NBA championship, been to two NBA Finals, named as Finals MVP and recently awarded NBA's Defensive Player of the Year.

He's also been to first and second All-Defensive Teams.

Leonard credits his inclusion to the Spurs in beng able to automatically learn to play the right away.

He added that all the winning he experienced with the Spurs was very important to his development as it rubs off on a player, making him want to win every game.

He also credits the Spurs "big three" of Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker in creating a winning mentality within the team.

The 24-year-old Leonard set career-highs last season in scoring with 16.5, rebounds with 7.2, assists with 2.5 and steals with 2.3.

At USA Basketball's minicamp in Las Vegas a couple of  weeks back, Team USA executive director Jerry Colangelo and coach Mike Krzyzewski gave Leonard glowing marks, according to Fox Sports.

Colangelo called Leonard one of the best defenders in the league with a legitimate chance of making the team.

Meanwhile, Krzyzewski said Leonard can lock down the opposing team's best scorer that would allow other team members to concentrate on scoring and making plays.

The coach added that Leonard is a tremendous rebounder, can create his own shot whenever he wants and should be a lock to make the 2016 Olympic team.
