WATCH: The ‘Friends’ Deleted Scene In the Wake of 9/11

NBC's 75th Anniversary

(Photo : Mark Mainz/Getty Images) The cast of 'Friends' (L to R) Courteney Cox Arquette, David Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston, Matthew Perry and Matt LeBlanc arrive for NBC's 75th Anniversary Special May 5, 2002 at Rockefeller Center in New York City.

Loyal fans of "Friends" may not have had the chance to watch this clip because it was pulled due to the 9/11 tragedy. In the scene, newlyweds Chandler Bing (Matthew Perry) and Monica Geller (Courteney Cox) ran into trouble with airport security about a bomb joke.

The scene was part of season 8 in an episode entitled "The One Where Rachel Tells Ross." It was scheduled to be shown two weeks after 9/11.

In the clip, Chandler was making fun of the sign "no jokes about bombs." He said that it should read "no bombs" because authorities should worry about the bombs instead of people joking about bombs. The video went viral last week even though it was originally posted back in 2007 by YouTube user bagurka. This only shows the influence and huge following of the decade-long series.

According to MTV, the intro for the scene reads, "The story involved Chandler joking with security at an airport and was to air two weeks after the events of September 11, 2001. In light of this, we decided to replace the original story. As part of the history of the show, we hope that the scenes can be viewed in the spirit which they were originally intended."

Other shows also made adjustments after the 9/11 incident. "Sex in the City" had to change their original credits which showed the World Trade Towers and replaced it instead with the Empire State Building. Same goes for "Law and Order" when they removed the World Trade Center permanently from their opening sequence.
