The very popular video game "Assassin's Creed" will finally become a movie. Yes, it has been confirmed. The announcement was made in the interview of the '"Macbeth" movie. The connection between "Assassin's Creed" and "Macbeth" may not be quite clear, but what's clear is that Michael Fassbender, the lead star of "Macbeth" will also be the lead star of "Assassin's Creed."

According to reports from Movie News Guide, Justin Kurzel also agreed and has recently signed up to be the director of the movie which will be released in the silver screen late 2016. Marion Cotillard will also be one of the cast members.

Quite similar to Macbeth, the "Assassin's Creed" movie will also have a very historical setting, just as seen in the video game. Bill Collage, Michael Lesslie, and Adam Cooper have written the script of the movie. The story line will be centered around the historical Spanish Inquisition.

According to Screen Rant, not only will Fassbender be in the lead role, but he also decided to become a producer because he trusts the capability of Kurzel in directing the film. The previous assumption was that Fassbender will be producing, directing, and acting in the movie. However, Fassbender thought that doing all three roles would be too much of a burden on his part.

Another previous speculation on the movie was that it will be having its shoot in Italy, and will be having an Italian Renaissance storyline. There were also predictions that it will be based on the American Revolution.

The filming will soon begin, in September. Ubisoft, the company who developed and published the "Assassin's Creed" games will also co-produce its movie adaptation. The company has began circulating news about the movie. Also, the first "Assassin's Creed" teaser poster has been revealed as a part of Ubisoft's E3 trade fair promotion.

At present, the working title for the movie is plainly "Assassin's Creed: The Movie." It has been announced that the title will be changed soon.
