Due to media and public scrutiny, the grieving mother has seen her job and personal life affected.

Throughout the investigation period following the baby's death, the immediate judgment of the public made her live a life with little confidence in society as well as the legal system.

However, Ms. Harris alleges that their son Cooper's death was indeed an accident, claiming that Ross, her husband, was a wonderful father who loved their son with all of his heart.

As a result, Ms. Harris has stated that she lost not only her son, but her husband as well.

Ross was charged with felony murder and second-degree cruelty for which he has pleaded not guilty.

According to reports, the day Cooper died he was spending father-son time with his dad. Two or three times per month Ross would take his son out to spend quality time with him.

On the day of Cooper's death, Ross reportedly took his son to Chick-fil-A for breakfast before heading to work.

Footage later revealed that Ross backed his car up and investigators pointed out that in this case it would have been close to impossible for Mr. Harris to not notice his son was sitting in the back seat.

Ross claimed that he was supposed to drop his son off at day care that day but went to work directly without realizing that his son was still in the back. Cooper died of hyperthermia, a condition in which the body temperatures are elevated high above the normal rate.
