Celine Dion is set to return to the stage after a year-long hiatus following her husband's deteriorating health condition. The songstress says her husband wants her to return to doing what she loves.

In an emotional interview with People, Dion spoke out about husband 73-year-old René Angélil's condition as he continues to battle throat cancer. Earlier on, the singer made the decision to care for Angélil and willingly took a break from performances at Caesars Palace.

But Dion shares her husband wants her to return to performing again, "He wants me to do this, do the show, do the interviews," she told People.

On Aug. 27, Dion is set to take the stage at the Strip for another run of shows.

Angélil underwent a series of tests at a Boston hospital in efforts to cure his cancer, but he is now in the family's Las Vegas home. Unsure of how long he will be with his family, Dion savors every moment she spends with her husband.

"I'll say, 'You're scared? I understand. Talk to me about it.' And René says to me, 'I want to die in your arms.' Okay, fine, I'll be there, you'll die in my arms," she shared.

Angélil met Dion when she was only 12, soon he became his manager and then they got married. They have three sons, 14-year-old René-Charles and twins 4-year-old Nelson and Eddy.

Nowadays, she finds strength to assure her husband that she and the kids will be okay.

"But my biggest job is to tell my husband, we're fine. I'll take care of our kids. You'll watch us from another spot," she revealed.

Her first show onstage is expected to be an emotional one which Dion describes as "fragile."

Meanwhile, Dion recently released a song which is also the theme of a Canadian children's movie entitled "La Guerre des Tuques." Her song "L'hymne" produced in Quebec talks about hope and friendship, Hello Magazine reported.
