'Pokken Tournament' Rumors: New Pokemons Magmortar, Growlithe, Dragonite, Larvitar Added; Wii U Version Coming Next Year, But No Arcade In The U.S.?

It looks like new updates for the Pokemon fighting game "Pokken Tournament" have been revealed regarding new rumored Pokemons, Wii U version next year and arcade version in the U.S.

According to Youth Health, Bandai Namco has confirmed that "Pokken Tournament" will be arriving to the Nintendo Wii U console next year, during the Pokemon World Tournament event in Boston, along with an announcement trailer for the Pokemon, Tekken-styled fighting game.

It was heavily speculated that a console version for "Pokken Tournament" could be in the works if the game became a total hit in Japanese arcades across the Japan, and it looks like both Pokemon and gaming fans are getting their wish next year.

The Latinos Post further adds that a new playable character is also announced during the Wii U version announcement as Pikachu Libre is joining the roster. This version of Pikachu wears wrestking gear utlilizes some wrestling moves along with its lightning based attacks. The character made its first appearance in the Pokemon games, "Alpha Sapphire" and "Omega Ruby."

The list of playable Pokemons include Pikachu, Charizard, Lucarion, Suicune, MaChamp, Gengar, Blaziken and Gardevoir. There are also support Pokemons in "Pokken Tournament" such as Eevee, Lapras, Snivy, Frogadier, Emolga Fennekin.

It was reported before that other playable pokemons are rumored to join the game such as Magmortar, Dragonite, Heracross, Vigoroth and Howlucha. Other characters such as Growlithe, Larvitar, Bagon, Whimsicott and Jiraichi are also rumored as support characters in the game.

Unfortunately, Destructoid reports that "Pokken Tournament" likely not show up in U.S. arcades anytime soon as J.C. Smith, director of consumer marketing for Pokemon Company that there has not been any official announcement regarding arcade test for the game to which they are conducted in "Dave & Buster's" around North America.

"Pokken Tournament" is a collaboration of both Nintendo and Bandai Namco that features pokemons figthing in one-on-one matches and performing several attacks and combos that are similar to the "Tekken" game series, while using their natural attacks from the famed Pokemon franchise. The game is currently out in Japanese arcades as gaming fans will just have to wait for more announcement and the game itself when it launches next year. 

"Pokken Tournament" for the Wii U is speculated to be released in the Spring 2016.
