The battle between Captain America and Iron Man will highlight "Captain America: Civil War," but there might be a bigger match-up in store for fans: Red Hulk vs. the Hulk.

Rumors are circulating around the comic book world anticipating a clash between the two versions of the Hulks. The purported sighting of Mark Ruffalo in Germany near the "Civil War" set has many set off alerts that he may have shot a few scenes himself.

Another piece of evidence is the presence of General Ross. Willam Hurt, who will play General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross in the film talked with Wall Steet Journal about his character in the film.

"It's very different from the Hulk. The style is completely modernized," the actor confided. "So I'm not playing the graphic novel version of Thaddeus Ross."

He also addressed the Red Hulk question: "I don't know. I wouldn't mind feeling like I had that much power," he admitted. But I created Thaddeus' ego with the same size as the monster's. With the same degree of messed op-ness. I'd take a shot at it."

Following the character of General Ross in the comics, Movie Pilot offered some history. "In 2008, the 'Hulk' comic book saw the arrival of a new and mysterious Red Hulk - a more aggressive, intelligent and heat-laser-wielding version of the hero, with a serious fondness for brutal violence."

That "Red Hulk" turned out to be General Ross who was willing to do anything just to defeat the Green Giant who became his life-long nemesis.

But how will he be presented in "Civil War?" A Reddit fan theory from Koala Guru has the Hulk actually joining Captain America's side. In the trailer, we see General Ross calling Captain America "a vigilante." Needless to say, he is on Tony Stark's side.

"Many fans are suggesting that we will see Red Hulk in this film, since Ross is the first connection to the 2008 Hulk film we've seen in years," the theory argues. "So why would they bring him back in an already crowded movie if not for this purpose? I believe that at a certain point in the film, Ross will decide that the only way to defeat the beast is to become him, and so he remakes the formula like he did for Abomination."

Will the theory hold true? There is a possibility that Tony Stark would be involved in helping Ross become the Hulk, and the ensuing destruction may cause the heroes to band together again.
