"My brother Kevin Durant was kind enough to come to the show and watch us. I just want him to see what would happen if he were to come play in Toronto," said Drake. The crowd reacted wildly to the remark, cheering K-D afterwards.

According to an ESPN report, a senior NBA executive explained that the league considered Drake's spiel "a public recruitment," which ran contrary to its anti-tampering rule.

Durant was one of the guests at Drake's annual Festival held at the Toronto's Molson Amphitheatre last Monday. He is set to be a free agent after the 2014 NBA season.

Drake was named the Toronto Raptors' global ambassador last 2013.

According to Tim Leiweke, president and CEO of Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, Drake will be actively participating in the major facelift and rebranding plans of the group and is set to launch in the next two seasons after being appointed as Global Ambassador and in time for the 2016 festivities.
