Boxing News & Rumors: Kell Brook Blames Amir Khan For Not Giving Fight Fans What They Want

British sensation Kell Brook (35-0, 24 KOs) had always been outspoken about his desire to fight fellow Briton Amir Khan (31-3, 19 KOs), but the Bolton native had also always insisted that Brook should fight big names first before facing him.

Khan even mentioned names like Timothy Bradley, Marcos Maidana, and Keith Thurman as suggested options for the Special K, which expectedly was not received well at all by the 29-year-old Sheffield native.

"I don't think Khan wants to give the fans what they want to see. He's not into the fans," said Brook, as reported by Boxing News 24. "I said it for a long time, it's the biggest fight out there in Britain, me and Queen Khan."

How Brook is chasing Khan is eerily similar to the way Khan had been dogging Floyd Mayweather Jr. these past couple of years. One would really wonder if the 28-year-old WBC Silver welterweight titlist was just doing it to get even.

Recently, with the Khan fight already not an option, Brook's camp tried to set up a match with American Brandon Rios, but the former WBA lightweight champion turned him down as well.

Brook is eager to fight international fighters as he had been facing domestic ones all throughout his career.

After setbacks in negotiations with Khan and Rios, The Special One just settled on facing unheralded IBF no. 4 Diego Gabriel Chaves (23-2-1, 19 KOs) on October 24 at the Sheffield Arena in his hometown to defend his IBF welterweight title, via The Guardian. And clearly he is not happy about what has transpired and started blaming Khan for not giving the fans the fight that they want.

Bleacher Report indicated that Brook demanded Khan to fight him after the Chaves bout and that they would have a "serious scrap" once they meet each other in the ring.

"I've heard he's willing to sit down and make that fight, but like you said that's just talk," said the 5-foot-9 IBF world champion." Everybody knows that I'm there to make that fight happen. It's a massive fight. There is bad blood. Everybody knows that we would have a serious scrap."

Many boxing pundits believe that a Khan-Brook bout has the potential to be one of the biggest fights in the history of British boxing. If only Khan would allow it to happen.
