Last Friday, the tech giant Google has announced that they would be having a Sept. 29 event in San Francisco. It is expected that new Nexus devices featuring a fingerprint reader will be launched alongside the Google's newest Android 6.0 Marshmallow and the next-generation Chromecast. One smartphone is from LG which is Nexus 5X with 5.2-inch 1920x1080 screen and Snapdragon 808 chipset. The other one is from Huawei which is Nexus 6P with 5.7-inch 2560x1440 display, Snapdragon 810 processor paired with 3GB of RAM, and an 8-megapixel front-facing selfie camera.

Nexus devices typically do not come with microSD slots but with built-in internal storage instead. For example, Nexus 4 has 8GB or 16GB, Nexus 5 has 16GB or 32GB, and Nexus 6 has 32GB or 64GB.

According to Android Headlines, there is no rumor on what storage options the smaller LG Nexus 5X will have or any mention of expandable storage either. Only the Nexus 6P will be expected to have a capacity of 128GB internal storage and does not count a microSD card slot that would likely not be available. This will be the first Google developer device with a high capacity. This will definitely be costly, making it expected to have an additional $50-100 price premium, but is yet to be officially announced.

It looks like we are finally starting to get away from 16GB internal storage because majority of high-end smartphones in 2015 and some in 2014 are having already 32GB internal storage, which are Galaxy S6, LG G4, HTC One M9, and the Galaxy Note 5. This means that less microSD card slots are needed. We can now store more music, photos, videos, and apps.
