Craig Ferguson, the Scottish-born host of "The Late Late Show" is about to close a deal with Tribune Media to host a 30-minute talk show at 7 pm which is set to air on all of the broadcasting company's networks.

The 52-year old comedian-host, who has been with "The Late Late Show" since 2005, will be leaving the said show this December. British comedian James Corden is set to replace Ferguson.

Although further details regarding the new show has yet to be released, what is certain is that it is scheduled to premiere in 2015 and will feature both comedy sketches and traditional talk show elements.

The new show will be headed by Michael Naidus, the executive producer of "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson".

Ferguson's colleagues from his late night talk show will also be joining the cast - including Ferguson's robot skeleton sidekick Geoff Peterson; Josh Robert Thompson, the robot's voice; and pantomime horse Secretariat.

The 7 pm timeslot is rather risky because the format of Ferguson's show has never been done at such an early start time.

Management sees the early timeslot as "relatively untested waters", but that if the show is successful, could mean big ratings and high profits for Tribune Media.

In an article published in Deadline magazine, it was written, "In success, it would put Ferguson in a powerful position in the talk show universe."

While Ferguson has yet to close the deal with Tribune, the actor has started taping the game show "Celebrity Name Game".

The said project, premiering this fall, is a half-hour pop culture quiz show set to air in Tribune stations. It was developed by Scott St. John and by Coquette Prods, a production company owned by former couple Courtney Cox and David Arquette.

News of Ferguson's exit from "The Late Late Show" broke shortly after it was announced that Stephen Colbert will replace David Letterman in "The Late Show".
