Following these posts, the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station received at least 25 phone calls and alerts at around 10 p.m. Saturday. According to Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Lt. Brenda Cambra, the calls were from concerned citizens and frightened parents who saw the death threats posted by the minor.

In the posts, the 15-year-old included photos of guns and lifeless bodies captioned with menacing words aimed at the supposed future victims. In a statement from Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station Lt. Tom Bryski, he confirmed that the minor appeared to be directly threatening the families and high school students from Santa Clarita Valley high school. The sheriff also disclosed that the 15-year-old suspect attends Santa Clarita Valley school. Bryski believes that the minor posted the online threats to obtain reactions from friends and schoolmates.

One of the posted photos showing various firearms was captioned, "We are aiming our guns mostly at high school students ... blood will be shed and families will suffer." Another post included the image of the school's marquee and stated, "Valencia High School has been nominated to be shot up first."

The 15-year old also posted a picture of people killed execution style and captioned it, "Death makes the world go round."

In a search conducted in the suspect's house, police found no firearms. Moreover, the minor was deemed to have acted on his own. Cambra shared that no evidence was found, which would prove that the 15-year-old actually had access to the guns posted online.

"We want people to know that we are looking into this, we take it seriously, and we've already discovered that those photos are not real, they are stock (images)," Cambra reassured the public.

Officials divulged that making criminal threats is considered a felony regardless of its authenticity. The minor's Instagram account had been deleted. Investigators stated that the social media site aided with the investigation.
