Bethesda unveiled that gamers with three platforms can join the 'Doom' alpha. The multiplayer gameplay of the legendary first-person shooter will be tested. The company confirmed that closed alpha for the Doom multiplayer is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

The alpha started on Dec.3 at 7 p.m. PST (10 p.m. EST) until Dec. 6 at 8:59 p.m. PST (11:59 p.m. EST).

Only those who preordered 'Wolfenstein: The New Order' and signed up for an access at first can enter the closed alpha, but Bethesda revealed on Twitter that the alpha is extended high enough to produce results. More people can now sign up and use the closed testing period on a first-come, first-served basis.

Previously, Doom developers are only allowing those buyers who purchased the digital copies of The New Order, which can be verified if they are eligible to join the alpha by checking in the Steam library. Meanwhile, Xbox One players for The New Order received a code for the Xbox Live Messenger to notify them that they were selected for the closed testing period.

The details and FAQ for the Alpha game are now available in the official site. This is to guide those players who bought the physical copies of The New Order through the slightly convoluted process.  Bethesda explained that PlayStation 4 gamers who want to join in from outside the U.S. can also go about it.

TechTimes reported that the content for the alpha test is only limited. Gamers can hunt each other on a single map only. The deathmatch option is only limited to two teams of six-versus-six fighting one another.  The game features seven primary weapons such as Repeater, Plasma Rifle, Rocket Launcher, Super Shotgun, Static Cannon, and Vortex Rifle. Frag Grenade and Personal Teleporter can also be used in the game.

Gamers who want to join the alpha test must sign a non-disclosure agreement to keep the lid on the details they encounter. According to Bethesda, alpha is their step toward the open beta and the final version of Doom.
