Analysts: Flourishing Asian Market Huge Draw For Global Investors

Global investors are taking advantage of the healthy Asian stock and bond markets, financial analysts reported.

Asian stocks are at record high, posting a 137 percent growth in under six years following the global financial market. Analysts said that the brisk growth was fueled by domestic consumption and a considerable demand for the region's exports of cars and electronics.

Julie Dickson, a portfolio manager at London's Ashmore Investment Management, told Reuters there are "some very compelling opportunities for growth in the next 3 to 5 years and possible longer, particularly in China and Korea."

European equities reported a sharp fall in the past two months, while foreign cash veered away from Latin American and European equity markets. However, the Asian market remained stable, with equity markets in several countries, including India, Indonesia, Korea and the Philippines, well above their 2008 peaks.

Asia is expected to grow at three times the pace of the developed world in 2014 alone, according to many economists. In fact, the region's second quarter earnings, which was bolstered by a healthy domestic consumption and exports, have been growing at 25 to 30 percent over last year.

Andrew Gillian, former Japan equities head at Henderson Global Investors, said Asia's growth in the past has been "broadly supportive of the move up in the market."

Analysts predict that a spike in the U.S. yields in early 2015 could cause high-yield Asian bonds to be sold. At present, JPMorgan's JACI high yield index for Asia is at 7 percent, while U.S. is at 5.71 percent.

Citi's Asian strategist Markus Rosgen said the emerging Asia market valuations are below historic peaks, but prices in Latin America and Europe are below peaks as well. In addition, the two western markets posted a lack of earnings growth. The United States, on the other hand, posted an above peak earnings growth, but prices are also on the rise.

Rosgen said investors will have more room to move with the high risk premium in Asian equity prices if there is a rise in interest rates.
