Britain's National Health Service is hooking up with dating app Tinder to raise awareness about organ donation. Tinder Profiles of famous British personalities will lead users to a registration page when swiped right.

"The Wait" campaign, led by Gemma Oaten, Jamie Laing and Jade Jones, lets Tinder users feel how long patients wait for a matching organ donor as likened to finding a perfect mate in Tinder. This campaign targets 18-35 years old. Aside from raising awareness, the campaign also encourages people to sign up as organ donors.

"With the help of these bespoke profiles on Tinder, we'll grab people's attention and throw a spotlight on the importance of organ donation," said Sally Johnson, NHS Blood and Transplant's director of organ donation and transplantation.

More so, the partnership aims to grab the attention of the users and let them now that signing up is as easy as a few swipes on the dating app.

Although many have expressed their interest in becoming an organ donor under the NHS Organ Donor Register, they are yet to register. The waiting list for organ transplants in the United Kingdom is over 7,000 patients long. In the last 10 years, over 6,000 patients have died waiting for an organ donor.

"We hope that the NHS profiles...will encourage people to make and act upon a different decision too - to sign up as an organ donor," said Hermione Ways, Tinder's Head of European Communications.

This isn't the first time Tinder has taken part in initiatives like this. In November, a polycystic kidney disease patient named Erika Bragan found a perfect kidney match when her friend found her perfect match on Tinder.

Erika's friend, Rich O'Dea dated Jennifer Thomas and told her about Erika's condition. Jennifer promised to help Erika and after several tests, she turned out to be a perfect match.

Jennifer stressed that she was not forced by Rich to help Erica whatsoever. "Going on a Tinder date, maybe having a romantic relationship, that's great, I mean that's wonderful. A lot of people do that, but I've gained something a lot better," said Thomas.
