Azure Cloud Computing Service Down Again

Azure, Microsoft's cloud computing platform, is currently experiencing interruptions and outages affecting numerous products based in the United States and overseas.

Its service has been intermittent for more than a week.

The problems started on Monday and affected some 10 services, including Virtual Machines, Websites and Cloud Services at their peak, according to the information posted on the Azure status website by Microsoft.

At around 4:15 p.m., the company had started to solve some of the interruptions and outages. It still had many problems to overcome in order to get the situation under control and revert the status of the platforms back to normal, according to PC World.

At that time, Cloud Services was still being hit by problems in availability and performance in Japan, Brazil and four of the platform's six regions in the United States. Cloud Services is where subscribers create, release and manage apps on the Azure cloud.

Meanwhile, Virtual Machines was having difficulties were even wider in geographic terms. Virtual Machines let users utilize Linux, Windows Server or other third-party software images.

The problems on Monday occurred in the wake of a series of outages and service disruptions that also affected subscribers of Azure in various parts of the globe.

It also impacted numerous Azure products for the whole of the previous week and in the latter part of the week before.

The complications spell bad news for the tech company since it's named Azure as infrastructure-as-a-service and platform-as-a-service cloud tools that will be an integral part of Microsoft's present and future success.

Azure's strong rivals in the cloud computing industry include Google, IBM and Amazon Web Services.
