Google has officially launched their new Google Chrome experiment called "Lightsaber Escape" in partnership with LucasFilm, Disney, and Industrial Light & Magic.

Google's Lightsaber Escape is a Star Wars interactive web experience that starts off as a Star Destroyer. According to Google, users of this interactive experience will have to use their respective phones as a lightsaber in order to escape the 'First Order'.

The Google Chrome Experiments was launched in 2009, showing off what their browser is capable of. Google was aiming and asking the programmers to push the limits of JavaScript and HTML5 to demonstrate what can be built on their Chrome.

Recently, the company announced that more than 1,000 Chrome experiments are available out there, meaning, Google added about 200 new experiments every year.

The new Google Chrome Experiment called Lightsaber Escape game is just quite simple to use. Users will simply have to swing their phone around to control the lightsaber on their laptop or desktop with the goal of fighting to win against the stormtroopers and other villains.

Lightsaber Escape is considered as a Chrome experiment game because it was developed and intended to work only in the browser. The game 3D graphics were built with WebGL.

The communication between the user's phone and computer will occur over WebSockets and WebRTC, which Google says reduces the latency and improves interactivity.

The other feature of this game uses web standards that will ensure the experiment works over the browsers without plug-ins needed.

This latest Chrome experiment was inspired by the Lucas Film's "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" that debuts worldwide on Dec. 18.

Meanwhile, Google is placing the Star Wars features in its own applications such as the Google Translate, Google Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Chrome, Google search, and Google Cardboard.
